It’s that time of year again– the next Call of Duty game has been announced, and as expected, it’s being developed by series creators Infinity Ward for both current- and next-generation platforms.
Titled Call of Duty: Ghosts, the game is said by Activision to be a completely new entry in the Call of Duty franchise. Despite sharing a similar name to one of the main protagonists of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Ghosts features a brand new cast of characters, a new setting, and an all-new story. In addition, the game will be powered by a brand new “next generation Call of Duty engine” rather than the modified Quake engines that powered previous games. While no gameplay or other footage of Ghosts has been revealed as of now, the game’s reveal trailer – seen above – promises a first glimpse during Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox event, which is scheduled to be held on May 21 at 1:00 PM EST.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is in development by Infinity Ward, and will be released on November 5, 2013. The game has been confirmed for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and “next generation consoles.”

This definitely gives us no actual details regarding what the game will actually entail. All they mention is just a new graphics engine but that’s it. Probably the same old CoD stuff they had in the other games.
New year, new CoD that’s likely going to be the same as the last 20. But slightly prettier since it’s next-gen.
I think I’m the only person that sees that the Call of Duty games have started to change as of late. Black Ops II did an admirable job of changing up just about everything sans Zombies (And even then, the Zombies bit mostly relates to the Zombies DLC– Tranzit itself is pretty different and requires new strategies), and if Infinity Ward pushes through even harder, then it’ll be fantastic.
At this point, I just associate CoD with sports video games. A yearly release with a couple of modifications that still results in the game selling very well.
