If you keep an eye on Japanese releases, chances are you know of a PlayStation Portable game released roughly two-and-a-half years ago called Final Fantasy Type-0. Heavily promoted in Japan and considered a major installment of the Fabula Nova Crystallis collection, the action-RPG received fairly good reviews… but was never released outside of Japan due to a dying market for PSP games. Thankfully though, Square Enix’s elusive gem is being translated into English by a passionate group of fans, and even better, the translation patch is coming tomorrow.
In a series of tweets, project lead “@SkyBladeCloud” states that due to unexpected (and unexplained) circumstances, the team won’t be able to release the patch on its original release date of August 8. Instead, the translation will be released tomorrow on June 8. According to the project’s webpage, the majority of the translation is finished, with only some video translation remaining. A sample of the translated game, focusing on Type-0‘s prologue, can be viewed above.
The page for the game’s translation can be found here. The patch will require a Japanese ROM, which we can’t provide– however, if you can get the patch to work on your own, definitely let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
