Welcome to the official launch of FourPlay Games!
Two years ago, Nintendo Net closed its doors, with the promise of a successor. When Nintendo Net was nearing its end, a group of four people got together to make a new general gaming site, with a focus on community content and participation. Since there were four of us involved in the project, we wanted a site with a lot of community involvement rather than a solitary experience, and we all had our minds in the gutter, we came up with “FourPlay” as a witty name for the site. Other obligations got in the way though, and soon only one of the original four was left: Geoff, who owned Nintendo Net from the very beginning. Finally, after almost a two year hiatus, we’re proud to unveil FourPlay Games, with the promise of a lot more to come.
Right now there are three people who make up the FourPlay Games staff: Geoff, who owns the site and pays the bills, and Will and Klippy, who write content and generally help keep the site in shape. We’ll have a proper bio page for everyone soon, with contact information.
Ready to get started? You’ll want to register on the forums, where you’ll be able to participate in all the goings-on in the community. Once you’re registered there, you’ll also be able to comment on the site, rate games, and more. Remember that community involvement aspect? Well, there’s a place on the forum for you to share your own reviews, let’s plays, walkthroughs, fanart and fiction, and more. If something catches our eye, it may even wind up featured on the site!
Over the next month, we’ll be adding content to the site left and right – we’ve launched in kind of a quiet period for gaming so that we can catch up on featuring old favorites and not-so-current games. In June we’ll have comprehensive E3 coverage, including all the latest news, game announcements, and even community press conference viewings. It should be an exciting month for 4P, so don’t miss it!
Our goal here at 4P is to become a tight-knit gaming community, where everyone feels welcome to participate. Gaming events, conference viewings, tournaments, and community-written content are just a few of the things that will make up the FourPlay Games experience. Please join us on the forums and become a part of our community!
