Last year’s Gears of War 3 proved to be a big success for both Epic Games and Microsoft. Now, a new game in the series has been announced. Please enter the url to a YouTube video.
Set 14 years before the events of the first Gears of War, the game follows Kilo Squad as they are charged with treason soon after the emergence of the Locust. Damon Baird and Augustus Cole serve as the protagonists, along with series newcomers Garron Paduk and Sophia Hendricks.
Like its predecessors, Judgment is a cover-based shooter. New to the series, however, is the implementation of a class system. Baird serves as the game’s engineer, Cole is the soldier, Garron is the scout, and Sophia is the medic. These roles are important in the game’s multiplayer, which includes a new mode called OverRun. OverRun is a combination of Gears of War 3’s Horde and Beast modes that sees players taking control of either the COGs or the Locust. The COG side builds fortifications, while the Locust attempt to break though and kill the opposing team.
Gears of War: Judgment is in development by People Can Fly and Epic Games for Xbox 360, and will be released in 2013.
