Remember last week’s announcement that Techland is hard at work on Dead Island: Riptide, a sequel to last year’s open-world zombie game? While few details were revealed at the time, publisher Deep Silver has since stated that when the game releases, it won’t burn a hole in your wallet quite as much as you’d expect.
Aubrey Norris, the manager of public relations and marketing at Deep Silver, stated on Twitter that the upcoming game will be priced at $49.99. The reason for this is that it will be released close to the end of the current generation of consoles. She also reiterated that the game isn’t a remake, but a brand new game.
Dead Island: Riptide is in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. A full reveal of the game will come later this summer.
