For the three people out there who never bought a Wii, Nintendo has announced the Wii Mini, a slimmed-down version of its now-last-gen console. In an odd move, the console will be exclusive to Canada for the time being – at least through the holiday season.
The system sports a sleek black and red color scheme and comes with a red Wii Remote and Nunchuk. It’s designed to play Wii retail games exlusively – the Mini lacks Gamecube compatibility and cannot connect to the internet, meaning no Virtual Console or WiiWare downloads.
The Wii Mini launches on December 7 and retails for $99.99. No word yet on whether it will eventually be available in other regions.
