Today, Sony announced that cloud service Gaikai will be available on all current PlayStation platforms beginning next year.
When the service becomes available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 4, it will allow users to access PlayStation 3 games via the cloud-based network. Supported titles have not been announced, though it is known that this is the first step in Sony’s plan of allowing support for older PlayStation titles on PlayStation 4.
While the service had been previously announced at the PlayStation 4 reveal event in February, specific details on what it would entail when it’s launched were not given. For more news regarding Gaikai on PlayStation as it becomes available, stay tuned to 4P.
