The much-requested remaster of Final Fantasy XII has finally become a reality.
Square Enix has revealed a teaser trailer of the remaster, which is based on the International Zodiac Job System version of the game, released only in Japan in 2007. Entitled The Zodiac Age, the FFXII remaster will feature all the updates of the international version, plus full HD graphics, higher quality 7.1 surround sound with dual-language audio, a newly recorded soundtrack with the option to switch to the old one, shorter loading times, auto-save, and turbo mode.
Despite Square’s reputation for long development times, and the fact that Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts III are still nowhere in sight, this doesn’t seem to be the case for the XII remaster. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is coming to PS4 in 2017 – just a year away.
