Tecmo Koei has announced that the latest iteration of its Ninja Gaiden series, Ninja Gaiden 3, will be released in North America on March 20, 2012. Additionally, the game will be released in standard and collector’s editions.
The game’s standard edition, retailing for $59.99, will only include the game itself. However, the collector’s edition will include the game, an art book, a soundtrack CD, and an exclusive figure. The collector’s edition will retail for $99.99, and will only be sold at GameStop.
In addition, the game will include a demo for Dead or Alive 5, depending on where and how the game is bought. The game’s collector’s edition will include the demo, with four playable characters: Ryu Hayabusa, Hitomi, Ayame, and Hayate. GameStop and Amazon are also offering the demo with pre-orders of the standard edition, but with a catch: PS3 players will be limited to playing as Ryu and Hitomi, while 360 players will only be able to play as Ayame and Hayate.
Ninja Gaiden 3 will be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with a Wii U version to be released in the future. Dead or Alive 5 is set to be released sometime in 2012.
