Apple has released a statement that founder Steve Jobs has passed away today after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 56.
Jobs stepped down as CEO of Apple earlier this year. His contributions to the world of technology are paralleled by few, and his creations (including the Mac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad) have been adopted by millions of people the world over. Portable gaming in general has shifted in focus largely due to the impact of the iPhone and iPod.
Rest in peace, Steve. You will be missed.
