GameStop has cut the price of new 3DS systems to $149.99 on its website today: a $20 price slash. As of now, all other retailers are selling the system for its normal $169.99 price. Could this be a Nintendo price cut to combat Vita? Or just a special sale?
A price drop would be a great business move by Nintendo, with Sony’s PlayStation Vita only a week or two from release. Nintendo has made it pretty clear that they plan on playing hardball with Sony, and this could be the first shot fired in the new handheld wars.
Regardless of whether it’s a sale or price cut, if you want a new 3DS, you can save $20 by buying it from GameStop right now.
