For last year’s Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Ubisoft released several special editions throughout the world; however, in North America, the only edition available was the Signature Edition, which merely included a few in-game bonuses. With Assassin’s Creed III, Ubisoft is making up for this by releasing several special editions of the game in North America.
The first edition, titled Assassin’s Creed III: Limited Edition, will be available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $119.99. This edition of the game will be sold at GameStop, Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon, and Best Buy, and will include the following items:
- A copy of the game for either Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.
- A 9″-tall statue of Connor, the game’s protagonist.
- A 28″ by 48″ colonial flag, featuring the Assassins’ crest.
- A metal belt buckle, featuring the Assassins’ crest.
For PC players, Ubisoft will be offering Assassin’s Creed III: Digital Deluxe Edition for $64.99. This edition of the game includes:
- A digital copy of the game for PC.
- A copy of George Washington’s notebook, revealing the President’s “true story.”
- Three bonus single-player missions.
- Two bonus single-player outfits.
- The Sharpshooter and Redcoat multiplayer characters.
- A “best of” collection of music from previous Assassin’s Creed games.
If neither of the above interests you, UbiWorkshop has you covered with Assassin’s Creed III: UbiWorkshop Edition, priced at $109.99:
- A copy of the game for either Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.
- A hardback copy of the Assassin’s Creed Encyclopedia: Second Edition, which features up-to-date information and secrets regarding the Assassin’s Creed universe.
- A softback copy of Assassin’s Creed: Subject 4, a collection of the Daniel Cross-related comics Assassin’s Creed: The Fall and Assassin’s Creed: The Chain.
If last year’s offerings for Revelations disappointed you, chances are you’ll find one of the above appealing. Personally, I’m looking forward to the UbiWorkshop Edition; I love the series’ story. Assassin’s Creed III releases on October 30 in North America for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and on November 23 for PC.
