Last year, Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed III will be receiving post-launch downloadable content titled The Tyranny of King Washington that will add new story scenarios to the game. Today, the company unveiled new details regarding the DLC, including its release date.
The Tyranny of King Washington is a “what if” story that sees Assassin’s Creed III protagonist Ratonhnhaké:ton, or Connor, in an alternate history in which he never became an Assassin. Instead, then-general George Washington becomes the tyrannical king of the recently conceived United States of America. After awakening from a dream, Connor is tasked with dethroning the king.
The first episode of The Tyranny of King Washington, known as The Infamy, will be released on February 19 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC; on Xbox 360, the episode will cost 800 Microsoft Points, while it will cost $9.99 on PlayStation 3 and PC. The series of DLC will be free of charge to those who have purchased the Assassin’s Creed III season pass. A release date for the second and third episodes, as well as for the first episode on Wii U, has yet to be announced.
