In addition to announcing new Nintendo 3DS games during today’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo also announced new games and release dates for the Nintendo eShop.
One of the first eShop games shown off during the Direct was HarmoKnight, an upcoming rhythm game from Game Freak. A new trailer for the game can be viewed above, though it notably excludes footage of a Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver stage seen during the Direct presentation. While the game was announced for a release in North America and Europe in the past, Nintendo announced today that it will be released exclusively on the eShop on March 28 in North America, with a demo releasing on March 14.
Those who are fans of the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series can look forward to Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move. As with previous entries in the series, the gameplay revolves around creating paths and leading miniature Mario figurines from one end of a level to the other. The game will also feature a level editor that allows players to share their creations with others. A release date for the game has not been announced.
While the previous two games have at least something to do with pre-existing games, the next is totally new. Kersploosh! – or Splash or Crash, in Europe – is a puzzle game in which players guide objects down a well while avoiding obstacles such as cannons and debris. Developed by Poisoft, the game will be released on the eShop on February 28 in Europe, and March 7 in North America.
3DS owners who primarily purchase games from the eShop have a lot of promising content to look forward to in the coming weeks and months, be it in the form of HarmoKnight, Mario and Donkey Kong, or Kersploosh!.
