Nintendo has given us more details about the launch of the 3DS’s online store, the eShop, which is scheduled for launch the evening of June 6th – the night before Nintendo’s E3 showing. The shop will provide original 3DS software, 3D remasterings of classic games, and a Virtual Console featuring Game Boy and Game Boy Color games.
Some highlights of the launch include Pokedex 3D, a free application that lets you view 3D models, stats, and information about Unova Pokemon (unlocking more of the Pokedex using StreetPass), and several Virtual Console games, including Super Mario Land for $3.99, and Alleyway and Radar Mission for $2.99. For the first month after launch, 3DS owners will be able to download a 3D remastering of Excitebike free of charge, after which the game will be $5.99.
Users will be able to add funds to their wallet in amounts of $5, $10, $20, and $50. There is no way to save your credit card information or personal details. The shop will be updated on Thursday, with press releases previewing the week’s releases on Mondays.
