Today, Nintendo announced two new paid downloadable content packs for Mario Kart 8. The first pack, due to be out in November, contains eight new courses, four new vehicles, and three new characters. What’s special, however, is what exactly these new items are: the characters include Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, and The Legend of Zelda‘s Link, who is modeled after his Skyward Sword appearance. In addition, one of the vehicles is based on none other than the Blue Falcon from the fan-favorite F-Zero series. The second DLC pack – said to be released in May 2015 – will feature the same number of new items, and includes Dry Bowser and Animal Crossing‘s Villager and Isabelle. Purchasing both content packs will also unlock eight new colors for both Yoshi and Shy Guy.
Both content packs will be priced at 7 pounds each in Europe, and $7.99 apiece in North America. In America, the packs can be bought together in a bundle at a reduced price of $11.99. The packs will be available for pre-purchase beginning on August 27.
