When digital gaming downloads were first introduced to consoles, many assumed that they would be cheaper than the games would be at retail. However, very few games are actually sold that way. With the PlayStation Vita, Sony may be trying to break the trend.
According to a Sony spokesperson at a recent Vita-related event, Vita games may be sold digitally at around 40% less than their retail counterparts. This would bring games down to nearly $20, as Vita games will be sold at retail for $39.99, on average.
Following Sony’s pricing for PlayStation Vita memory cards, this may satisfy some gamers who are looking to keep as much money in their wallets as possible, if it is true.
