Ubisoft today officially unveiled Assassin’s Creed III. Set in the American Revolution, the game features a new Native American/English protagonist: Ratohnhaké:ton, who adopts the name Connor. Players will travel through the vast untamed frontier, through colonial American towns, and even into the battlefields where George Washington’s Continental Army and the British Army clash.
Powered by a new game engine that allows for better visuals and artificial intelligence, the AC3 project is the largest in Ubisoft’s history – being in development for three years and having twice the production capacity of any game in the series.
Assassin’s Creed III will be released October 30, 2012 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Ubisoft also confirmed a Wii U version in the works, though a date for that has yet to be confirmed. Gamers who preorder through Best Buy, Amazon, or GameStop will receive a free collectible Steelbook case.
A trailer for the game was also unveiled – check it out here!
