BioWare’s Mass Effect 3 was released alongside single player DLC for the game that helped to extend the game, which was already fairly big. On the multiplayer side, however, players may have gotten bored of playing with their friends. For those players, Electronic Arts is releasing a multiplayer pack next week– for free.
Titled the Resurgence Pack, the DLC contains two new multiplayer maps. The first map, Firebase Condor, is a warzone outpost situated on one of the moons of Palaven; meanwhile, Firebase Hydra is part of an abandoned Quarian colony that has been converted into a dam.
In addition to new maps, the Resurgence Pack adds six new characters to the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer mode, one for each class. These new characters include an Asari Justicar Adept, a Krogan Battlemaster Vanguard, a Geth Infiltrator, a Geth Engineer, a Batarian Soldier, and a Batarian Sentinel. Each character features an exclusive set of abilities and weapon loadouts, some of which are new to the game. Speaking of weapons, the DLC adds three new weapons: the Striker Assult Rifle, the Kishock Harpoon Gun, and the Geth Plasma SMG. The new characters and weapons are unlocked via Reinforcement Packs.
Mass Effect 3 players can expect to get their hands on the Resurgence Pack on April 10 on Xbox Live and Origin, while PlayStation 3 players will have to wait until April 11.
