It’s been just over four months since the last Nintendo 3DS software update was released, and even longer since the last one to add new features to the system. However, Nintendo is about to release a new update that will add several new features.
The software update is said to give users the ability to categorize their applications into folders. The folders can be renamed, and can hold up to 60 applications. In addition to folders, the update will patch a game-breaking bug seen in the Japanese release of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
Previously, Nintendo announced that an update in the future would allow users to access the Nintendo eShop from other devices and use QR codes to redeem eShop content. It is unknown if this is that update.
The update goes live in Japan on April 25.
