No, you didn’t read that wrong. The next two Super Smash Bros. games are being developed by Namco Bandai, publisher of games such as the Tales series, Tekken, and SoulCalibur.
During today’s Nintendo Direct conference, it was revealed that while Masahiro Sakurai will still be heading the projects, no Nintendo studios will be working on the upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games, at least directly; rather, development is proceeding at Namco Bandai. No gameplay details were announced.
