Earlier this year, Electronic Arts and DICE announced the Battlefield 3 Premium service, granting users access to all expansion packs and some exclusive goodies for a reasonable price of $49.99. However, newcomers to the series may be daunted by the idea of paying roughly $110 just for a game and its add-ons. For those people, EA has announced that it will be releasing a new edition of Battlefield 3 that includes access to the Premium service.
Battlefield 3: Premium Edition will include the Battlefield 3 game disc (Or discs, for Xbox 360 users) and full access to the entire Premium service. This means that players will not only have access to the full base game, but also its five expansion packs, Back to Karkand, Close Quarters, Armored Kill, Endgame, and Aftermath. In addition to Premium features, owners of the Premium Edition will receive the Multiplayer Head Start Kit, which grants fifteen weapons, gadgets, and vehicle upgrades.
This new edition of Battlefield 3 will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on September 11 in North America for $69.99, and on September 14 in Europe.
