Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes isn’t Konami’s only Metal Gear surprise. A new entry in the series is set for release on the GREE mobile platform later this year.

Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops is a mobile stealth game that will allow players to relive the events of previous Metal Gear titles with a card-based battle system, similar to Metal Gear Ac!d. In addition, the game will feature a Mother Base development mode, something previously seen in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The game will run on the Unity game engine, feature full 3D graphics, and be connected through the GREE social platform.
A specific release date has yet to be given, but Konami is expecting to launch the game by the end of this coming winter worldwide.
