Starving western Monster Hunter fans, rejoice: a new entry in the series has been announced, and it’s coming your way early next year on two consoles.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is an English release of Monster Hunter 3G, released last year in Japan for Nintendo 3DS. The game features content from 2009’s Monster Hunter 3, as well as bonus content in the form of new monsters, new gameplay features, and the Mountain Stream area from Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. The two editions of MH3U feature cross-save functionality, meaning players can play on the same profile both at home on a Wii U, and outside on a Nintendo 3DS. The two versions are also able to work together for multiplayer, and Wii U players will be able to play online with friends; however, Nintendo 3DS players are restricted to local wireless multiplayer.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be released next March in North America and Europe for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The Wii U version will be released in Japan as Monster Hunter 3G HD Ver. on December 8 as a launch title for the system.
