Today’s Nintendo Direct featured some news that will make Fire Emblem fans happy. The latest iteration in the series, Fire Emblem: Awakening, will be coming to North American shores sooner than expected.
The game, released last April in Japan, will hit store shelves on February 4, 2013 – just under two months away.
Awakening features the story of Chrom, the prince of the Holy Kingdom of Iris, and his group of companions who must battle an undead force threatening the kingdom. The game makes use of the 3DS’s 3D capabilities and features animated cutscenes as well as the ability to customize the player character.
No word yet on a release in other territories.
