In a move that surprised many, Namco Bandai Games today announced that the previously Japan-exclusive crossover Nintendo 3DS title Project X Zone is coming to North America, Europe, and Australia later this year.
Project X Zone, developed by Banpresto and Xenoblade Chronicles creators Monolith Soft, is a tactical RPG released by Namco Bandai in Japan last year. The game serves as a crossover between various Namco Bandai, Sega, and Capcom franchises, such as Tekken, Tales, .hack, Valkyria Chronicles, Shining, Sakura Wars, Resident Evil, Mega Man, and Devil May Cry. In total, the game features over two-hundred characters. While all text in the game will be translated into English for the international release, voiceovers will remain spoken in Japanese. A fan-translated trailer for the game can be viewed above.
Project X Zone does not yet have a definitive release date, though Namco Bandai has the title slated for a summer 2013 release.
