The apocalypse might not have happened Saturday, but this next announcement might bring it on anyway…Duke Nukem Forever has gone gold and is ready to ship. Development began in 1997 and continued for years until the shuttering of 3D Realms. Gearbox Software, developer of the Brothers in Arms series and Borderlands, took the helm, and finally a playable demo was shown in September 2010. Finally, today, the game has gone gold: the final milestone before it hits store shelves.
Duke Nukem Forever will finally be released on June 10th in Japan, Europe, and Australia, and June 14th in America. A demo will be released to First Access Club members on June 3rd; to become a member of the club you must either pre-order Duke Nukem Forever or buy Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition.
It still feels like this is all just an April Fool’s joke gone on too long. 😐
