After being delayed just weeks before its original release date, Ubisoft has finally announced Rayman Legends‘ definitive release date in addition to releasing a treat for patient Wii U owners.
Originally scheduled for release on February 26 exclusively for Wii U, Rayman Legends is a sequel to 2011’s Rayman Origins. The game was delayed in early February, however, to allow for a simultaneous release on Wii U, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Alongside this delay, Ubisoft announced that Wii U owners would receive a free challenge mode taken directly from the game prior to the game’s September launch.
Today, Ubisoft has announced that the online challenge mode has been released on the Wii U eShop. This mode allows players to team up with other players online to complete daily goals. Each challenge is based on one of five settings, one of which is exclusive to Wii U.
Rayman Legends is in development at Ubisoft Montpellier, and will be released on September 3 in North America for PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360. A European release is slated for August 30.

I didn’t like the demo I played for the first game. So, meh. I may give this demo a whirl when I eventually get a Wii U
