Launch details for the Xbox One have been revealed, including the system’s release month, price point, and its changes to Xbox Live.
This November, the Xbox One will be released in over twenty-one countries, Microsoft stated during its E3 press conference today. The company also revealed that the system will cost $499.99 in North America, €499 in Europe, and ₤429 in the United Kingdom.
When Xbox One launches, it will include several changes to the way Xbox Live works. While Live on Xbox 360 limits the friends list to just one-hundred people, the service will offer an unlimited list on One. In addition, One will do away with Microsoft Points in favor of using standard local currency for digital purchases. Possibly the biggest change is that all members of a household will share Gold benefits for the price of one subscription.

Eeyup. Like Geoff said elsewhere, if Sony comes out and totes a $399 price tag and not-as-restrictive DRM, then they’ve got Microsoft beaten.
Sony will probably be taking a loss if they do that, but they’re no strangers to hardware losses so I hope they go that route.
Honestly, though, considering what these consoles do, I don’t think $500 is too high. :/ A crappy computer that would play games at about the same level would probably run you that much too.
