While the MOBA genre has become immensely popular on PC thanks to games such as League of Legends, Smite, and Dota 2, console gamers have yet to receive any such game. However, anyone with an Xbox One will be able to experience one of the three next year, as Smite developer Hi-Rez Studios is bringing the game to consoles.
The third-person game allows players to select one of many characters based on mythological gods – Zeus, Thor, Chronos, Aphrodite, and Poseidon, among others – and battle against other players. The game features several game modes, including Arena, Conquest, and Siege.
The Xbox One version of Smite will be available at an unannounced date in 2015. While the PC version of the game is free to play, a pricing structure for the Xbox One edition has yet to be given.
