For several years now, Activision has released mobile entries for its Skylanders series; however, these have typically been smaller games that aren’t as feature-complete as their console counterparts. Activision is seemingly looking to break that trend this year however, as it has announced that its upcoming Skylanders: Trap Team is coming to tablet devices this fall.
The tablet version of the game is identical to its console brethren content-wise, and comes packaged with the game, a Traptanium Portal, two new Skylanders figures, two traps, and a wireless controller. The game’s product listing on Amazon lists the following devices as being compatible with the game:
- Kindle Fire HDX
- iPad (3rd generation, 4th generation, mini with Retina Display, Air)
- Google Nexus 7 (2013 model)
- Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S
- Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 model)
- Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2
Skylanders: Trap Team will be released on October 5 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and tablets running iOS and Android. The current-generation and Nintendo 3DS versions of the game are being developed by Beenox, while previous-generation versions are in development at Toys for Bob, the original creators of Skylanders. The developer of the tablet version has yet to be named.
