Rejoice! Nintendo has finally decided to get with the times and scrap their archaic online system utilized on the Wii. Adrian Blunt, a producer at Ubisoft who is working on Ghost Recon Online, says that Nintendo has scrapped the entire process of having to add friend codes for all of your gaming buddies, for each game. Instead, the system will utilize unified user accounts, similar to Xbox Live Gamertags. Every user on a system will be able to have their own account, with no messy friend codes required. The system will also allow players to easily search for and find their friends.
When asked about achievements, Blunt said he couldn’t answer that question right now. Even still, it looks like Nintendo is finally going to be catching up with their console brethren in terms of both graphics and online service.
