In April, Halo studio 343 Industries announced that a new Halo 2 Anniversary map and the Halo 3: ODST campaign would be coming to The Master Chief Collection in May. As May has gone on, many have believed 343 would miss its target, but fear not: 343 has pulled through just in time, and both are now available on Xbox One.
To play the multiplayer map Remnant or the ODST campaign, a 2.4GB update must first be downloaded via Xbox Live. After downloding the update, the Remnant map will be included in Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer playlists for free to all players; meanwhile, ODST‘s campaign can be obtained in one of two different ways. Players who played a multiplayer game in the collection by December 19 will receive a free code for the campaign on Xbox Live, while anyone else can buy it from the Xbox Marketplace for $4.99 USD.
It’s been several months since the compensation items for The Master Chief Collection‘s lackluster launch were announced, but they’ve finally been released to players. Have you tried the remastered ODST campaign, or the new multiplayer map? Let us know your impressions in the comments.
