It’s been over two years since CyberConnect2 released a new game in the .hack series. The franchise has seen several new installments since then, but now, fans can look forward to the next video game in the series.
.hack//Versus is the latest iteration of Namco Bandai’s .hack franchise, and will be included with .hack//The Movie, which releases on Blu-Ray on June 28 in Japan. While no story-related details of the fighting game have been revealed, it seems to take place around the time of the movie, and uses the same realistic art style as the film. Additionally, the game makes use of character-specific abilities such as Skills, Altimit Skills, and Exceeds. Screenshots of the game can be seen below, courtesy of Famitsu.
.hack//The Movie and .hack//Versus have yet to be announced for release outside of Japan.
