If you played Call of Duty: Black Ops, chances are you played a few matches on Nuketown. The tiny nuclear test area made firefights hectic due to it being so… well, tiny. If you loved the chaos, you’ll love to know that the map is returning in Black Ops II, though currently only as a pre-order bonus.
Treyarch is updating the map to fit with Call of Duty: Black Ops II‘s futuristic theme, going as far as renaming the map “Nuketown 2025.” No images or footage has been released for the updated multiplayer map, but two retailers have been confirmed to be offering the map: United Kingdom video game retailer GAME, and Irish retailer Xtravision. While the map has yet to be announced for North America, it could be a part of GameStop’s pre-order program for the game, which will be announcing a new bonus for customers on July 1.
While the map will likely be included in a DLC pack for the game post-release, it’s good to know that Activision and Treyarch are giving players a chance to play the map sooner rather than later, and for no extra cost. Call of Duty: Black Ops II releases on November 13 in North America for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
Pretty cool. I won’t preorder it for that, but I loved Nuketown. Hope it looks just as cool in 2.
