Last year, Konami released the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as a way for fans to experience three of the most acclaimed Metal Gear titles with enhanced visuals. Unfortunately, the company missed out on an opportunity to release the collection digitally; now, however, it has announced that each game in the collection will receive a digital release this month.
The release schedule is as follows:
- August 21
– Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty HD (PSN release for Vita)
– Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD (PSN release for Vita)
– Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty HD (PSN release for PS3)
– Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD (PSN release for PS3)
– Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (Xbox Live release for 360) - August 28
– Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD (PSN release for PS3)
– Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD (Xbox Live release for 360)
– Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (PSN release for PS3)
It should be noted that the Xbox Live release of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will not include Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD. The PlayStation Network release, however, will include all three games.
While pricing details have yet to be revealed, this is the perfect chance for anyone who hasn’t already played these classics to do so.
