RPG lovers in the west are in for a treat, as Nintendo has announced it’s bringing Square Enix’s hit Bravely Default: Flying Fairy to North America and Europe.
Bravely Default, developed by the same team behind 3D Dot Game Heroes, Silicon Studio, is a 3D role-playing game that functions similarly to many old-school RPGs, namely Final Fantasy V. The game’s battle system allows for players to call in people they have StreetPassed for assistance, while the game’s story allows players to initiate multiple endings. The game’s characters were designed by Akihiko Yoshida, who also created the characters seen in Final Fantasy XII and the Final Fantasy Tactics series.
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy will be released later this year in Europe, and sometime next year in North America.

I don’t think I’ve played a Square game other than TWEWY. Nor very many RPGs for that matter. But, I’m kinda interested in it. Has some good buzz and the platform needs more of this genre right now
Yaaay! I’ve heard a lot of good things about this and held off on picking it up because I already have a lot of games on the 3DS to play (and importing too much is hella expensive) so I’m glad this is getting a Western release. I’ll pick it up sometime and just borrow my roommates’ 3DSes to play.
