EDIT: Square Enix has officially confirmed that Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on October 10. The new release will include enhanced visuals and gameplay, and 1080p support on consoles. This is in addition to all of the game’s DLC, as originally reported. Below is the game’s announcement trailer, followed by our original story.
Square Enix was one of the first publishers to support last year’s console releases, with its release of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, an Amazon listing may have accidentally revealed that another “definitive” remaster is coming later this year in the form of Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition.
The listing for the game seems to imply that the announcement of the game is coming relatively soon, as not only does it feature a box art, but also a promotional image detailing pre-order exclusive artbook packaging for the game, similar to the releases of Kingdom Hearts I.5 HD ReMIX and Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster. Amazon also mentions that the Definitve Edition includes all previously released downloadable content for the game.
According to the Amazon product listing, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will release on October 14 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Should Square Enix or United Front Games comment on the matter, we will update this post with more information.
