While many enjoy seeing new games released on new-generation platforms, the phrase “what’s old is new again” may ring true when applied to Rockstar Games’ major 2013 title Grand Theft Auto V. The publisher has finally announced the release dates for the upcoming enhanced editions of the game, as well as new details on what players can expect during their return to San Andreas.
Rockstar has added several new features to the upcoming re-releases, including denser traffic and new activities, wildlife, vehicles (Including several from previous GTA games for returning players), and weapons. In addition, as announced at E3 this year, the game’s visuals will be upgraded, with a new foliage system and upgraded effects in several areas. For the game’s online multiplayer portion, Grand Theft Auto Online, the player count has been increased from 16 to 30, and all progress and content from last year’s PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will carry over.
Grand Theft Auto V releases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 18. The Windows PC version will be released two months later on January 27, 2015. Players who pre-order the game will receive $1,000,000 in-game to be split evenly between their Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online characters.
