A bit drastic a title? Maybe. But Nintendo of America has finally addressed the Operation Rainfall movement through their Facebook and Twitter accounts, and the news isn’t good.
Despite all the letters, Facebook comments, and preorders, Nintendo has confirmed that it plans to continue its stubborn refusal to bring Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora’s Tower to North America. Never mind that two of those games are getting localized for the European market anyway, and thus getting an English translation.
Nintendo of America posted a tweet earlier tonight saying:
Thanks for being such incredible fans! Unfortunately, there continues to be no plans for NOA to release these 3 games right now.
A post on the company’s Facebook page expanded on the statement:
Thank you for your enthusiasm. We promised an update, so here it is. We never say “never,” but we can confirm that there are no plans to bring these three games to the Americas at this time. Thanks so much for your passion, and for being such great fans!
Operation Rainfall plans to continue despite this slap in the face. The letter-writing campaign begins July 11th and continues through the rest of the month. For more details on the campaign and how you can help, check out our original Operation Rainfall post here.
And as always, 4P continues to throw our full support behind the Operation Rainfall and the effort to get these games localized. This response is obviously not what we want to hear, so it’s time to double our efforts, write those letters, and let Nintendo know we want these games!
Absolutely ridiclous responses from Nintendo. “thanks for been such great fans” well how about rewarding said great fans with the three games they want?
