Nintendo has revealed a new Wii console debuting in Europe this year. The console looks very similar to the old Wii except that it is designed to sit horizontally rather than vertically (the old model could do both, but was designed for vertical). It comes bundled with Wii Sports and Wii Party, and will be available by Christmas.
The biggest news about this redesign, however, is that Nintendo has removed Gamecube support from the system. Not only will the system not support playing Gamecube games, Gamecube controllers and other accessories are incompatible as well.

This… is pretty pointless, and dumb. Not only is the console about to die out, but Nintendo just quickened its death by making it lose several key features. Also, did the Wii really need to be any smaller than it already is?
