Through GameStop, Sony has finally revealed the prices for the memory cards required to store data on its upcoming Vita handheld. Warning: your wallets may cry.
GameStop recently updated their online store with several new items, including the memory cards for the Vita. Along with the product listings came prices for the products in question. The pricing for memory cards are as follows:
4GB – $29.99
8GB – $44.99
16GB – $69.99
32GB – $119.99
Considering that one can buy a 4GB SD card for around $6, Sony’s pricing for the memory cards can easily be declared ridiculous.

If anything having memory cards feels like a massive step backward. Granted the PSP used memory stick duo, but those were relatively cheap. iPods and iPhones have large amounts of internal memory and are notably smaller than the vita which makes me wonder why Sony wouldn’t follow suite.
