The official Japanese Ōkami Twitter account was updated recently with a tweet – seen above – that, as translated by Gematsu, reads, “Hello, this is Ōkami news! Sorry I’ve been kind of out of touch lately, but I have the feeling we’ll be able to drop a fresh announcement like WHAM! around the beginning of Golden Week, so please look forward to it. Right now we’re on track with preparations.”
Golden Week is a Japanese festivity that is held from April 29 until May 5. The week contains several individual holidays, including Constitution Memorial Day on May 3 and Children’s Day on May 5.
Possibly tying into the Ōkami tease is the fact that Japanese gaming publication Famitsu has stated that, in regards to an announcement included in its upcoming May 9 issue, a “new game to bring fans tears of happiness finally comes to life!” As the Ōkami series has typically been well-received despite its poor sales, a new Ōkami game announcement could very well fit that description, especially considering the previous Ōkami game, Ōkamiden for Nintendo DS, was released over two years ago.
4P will bring you more news on the Ōkami announcement as it arrives.

So excited to see Okami getting a (hopefully) console sequel.
I suppose that’s interesting but I’m not very excited. I didn’t get very far in Okamiden because it just didn’t click with me and I think Okami itself resolved quite nicely.
I gotta get cracking on my Okami first replay and Okamiden play through
