We’ve been gone for a long time, but we’re officially back!
4P was first founded in May 2011, almost four years ago. Since then, we’ve had two major redesigns, but our last one was all the way back in August 2012, when we changed our name to 4P Games (from the groan-worthy FourPlay Games). It was a great design that has served us well, but it’s time to get with the times, and so I’m proud to unveil version 4 of our site, and I personally think it’s our best design yet.
4P v4 is fully responsive, so it will scale across all your platforms – from your PC to your iPad to your phone. In addition, you can now leave your own ratings on reviews. Think the score we gave a game sucked? Leave your own score to influence the user ratings! You can like our posts as well by clicking the little heart in the content bar at the top of the page, and of course we encourage you to use the social media sharing buttons as well (and there are a lot more available now for you to choose from!).
This is in addition to the other enhancements to navigation and accessibility around the site. Posts can now be sorted alphabetically, by date, by editor score, by user score, and more. The new enhanced menu gives you a sneak peek at our content in every single category.
As fantastic as our new design is, it’s meaningless if we drop the ball on content. Our content posting has been very limited as we’ve been on hiatus for the last several months, but I’m proud to announce the return of regular posts to 4P. We will continue to provide news and reviews while at the same time looking to expand our focus on original features that have proven to be so popular. Look for new fun features, serious Soapbox articles, more Hardware Highlights and Retro Rewinds, and new regular columns such as The Backlog Chronicles and Gaming Wars (tentative titles!) in the near future.
To do this, we’ve enlisted the help of a few more staff members, and you’ll be meeting them in the next few days. We hope to expand our ranks even more before E3, so if you’d be interested in joining the 4P team, click here for more information!
There will also be some exciting enhancements coming to our forums in the near future, so look for details on those in the coming weeks!
Thank you all for your support over the last four years! Most gaming sites barely last a few months, and though we’ve had our ups and downs over the years, I’m more excited about the future of 4P than ever, and we wouldn’t have made it this far without our loyal fans. Let’s make this the year that 4P really takes off!
Love it!
Really digging the new theme!
